Reasons Why I Wish I Was… Gabrielle

Published September 1, 2013 by HomburgerNaeNae

There are a lot of characters that I wish I could actually be. I figured I might as well go through them and nail down the actual reasons why I wish I was them. Could prove to be interesting.

First up: I wish I was Gabrielle from Xena, Warrior Princess. Gabrielle starts out as the rescued farm girl who runs off to follow Xena, the bad ass Warrior Princess. She and Xena eventually become best friends, and Gabrielle becomes a great warrior in her own right. She is also a bard, which in ancient Greece meant writing down stories and also performing them.

Highlights from the episode “A Day in the Life”. Personally I think the best is Xena using Gabrielle’s scrolls.

So here are 10 reasons why I wish I could live the life of Gabrielle:

.

.

.

10) She loves to shop.

We share a favorite sport!

.

.

.

9) She talks a lot.

We would get along.

.

.

.

8) She’s funny as hell.

I want her sense of humor.

.

.

.

7) She gets to go on adventures.

I would love to be able to travel different places and see new things. True adventures are hard to come by nowadays, but Gabrielle has plenty of them.

.

.

.

6) She is an Amazon Queen.

Wonder Woman, you can cry your eyes out. Gabrielle is best Amazonian.

.

.

.

5) Her best friend is Xena, Warrior Princess.

Don’t even try to tell me that you wouldn’t want to be BFFs with the most epic princess that ever lived. Really now.

.

.

.

4) She can fight with an Amazonian Bo Staff.

I would LOVE to be able to fight with a Bo Staff. It’s more unique than a sword and has more uses, as it can hand out blunt force trauma and can also be used to vault or reach further places.

.

.

.

3) She loves with all her heart.

When Gabrielle loves someone or something, you can tell that it’s pure and real, with no thoughts of her own self interest. That’s admirable, and a quality that I dearly wish I could master.

.

.

.

2) She’s a fantastic writer.

Seriously, I wouldn’t even have to give up my love of storytelling (and writing in particular) in order to be her. That’s a huge plus. Not to mention, she’s hailed as one of if not THE greatest bards of her time. I’d love to be the Neil Gaiman of my universe.

.

.

.

1) She gets to go on adventures with her best friend.

Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have that one best friend, the one you can tell absolutely everything to, be with you all the time as you go together to have epic adventures? I can personally think of no better type of life.
